Petaling Jaya, 3 March 2026 – Honda Malaysia (or the Company) today officially launched the New CR-V, marking a significant milestone in the brand’s hybrid expansion strategy with the introduction of two hybrid variants within a single model line-up for the first time. The New CR-V is now available in the new e:HEV E and the flagship e:HEV RS variants, reinforcing Honda’s commitment to bringing advanced electrified mobility and ‘Fun To Drive’ to more Malaysians.
Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Honda Malaysia, Mr. Narushi Yazaki said, “The CR-V has long been our flagship model and a key pillar in Honda Malaysia’s success. This year, we are enhancing its appeal further with a new hybrid variant and this underscores our continued commitment to making Honda’s hybrid more accessible to a broader customer base, while accelerating the growth of our hybrid footprint in the Malaysian market.”
At the heart of the hybrid variants is Honda’s advanced 2.0L e:HEV powertrain, delivering an impressive 184PS and 335Nm of torque. Engineered for the demands of an SUV, this powertrain offers smooth, powerful, and highly efficient hybrid performance. Enhancing the Fun Driving experience even further, the system seamlessly switches between three driving modes - EV Drive, Hybrid Drive and Engine Drive automatically opting for the most efficient mode based on real‑time driving conditions. Taking refinement up a notch, the e:HEV variants also feature an exclusive Individual Drive Mode, enabling drivers to personalise their driving dynamics according to their preferences for a truly customised experience.
The New CR-V receives exterior and interior refinements, elevating its premium SUV appeal while enhancing practicality and safety. Complementing its bold and sophisticated SUV stance, the New CR-V now introduces a striking new colour option: Blazing Red Pearl. All variants now come standard with Honda Authorised Solar and Security tint film by ECOTINT for enhanced comfort and protection.
Hybrid variants feature distinctive 18-inch alloy wheels in Berlina Black, while turbocharged variant is equipped with 18-inch alloy wheels in Sparkle Silver, accentuating their respective personalities.
The New CR-V e:HEV RS variant’s cabin now features a darker hairline film finish on the dashboard, elevating the interior with a more premium feel and seats embossed with the RS logo, reinforcing its sporty and flagship character.
The New CR-V introduces a suite of advanced technologies for enhanced convenience and safety, catering to both daily drives and adventurous journeys. The new features, and their availability across all variants, are as follows:
- The 9-inch Advanced Display Audio system which supports wireless Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™, delivering a seamless and personalized driving experience. With Google Audio Services integrated into the Advanced Display Audio system, drivers can enjoy hands-free Google Assistant, real-time navigation through Google Maps, and access to a variety of applications via Google Play.
- Digital Key: For the first time, Honda Malaysia is introducing a Digital Key feature with the New CR-V, allowing owners to lock and unlock their vehicle; and start the engine via a mobile device. This innovation delivers greater convenience and flexibility, enabling owners to use the Digital Key as an optional primary key for a truly seamless and modern ownership experience. Additionally, functional remote features such as Remote Window Close and Remote Power Tailgate are integrated into the Honda CONNECT mobile application for the New CR-V, offering enhanced ease of use and convenience for owners.
- Blind Spot Information (BSI) system enhances driving confidence by continuously monitoring areas typically difficult to see, such as the diagonal rear blind spots. When a vehicle is detected, the system instantly alerts the driver with an illuminated indicator in the side-mirrors, helping ensure safer and more effortless lane changes.
- Cross Traffic Monitor (CTM) enhances peace of mind by detecting vehicles approaching from either side at the rear of the vehicle, especially when reversing out of tight parking spaces. When a potential hazard is detected, the system alerts the driver, allowing the driver to react promptly and manoeuvre more safely and confidently.
These enhancements further strengthen the New CR-V’s position as a technologically advanced and safety-focused SUV designed to meet evolving customer expectations.
