Honda Extended Warranty Program Terms & Conditions
1. Agreement:
- This document outlines the terms and conditions of the Extended Warranty Agreement (the "Agreement") between Guard My Ride Sdn Bhd (GMR) (the "Provider") and the purchaser (the "Warranty Holder") for the vehicle described in the Warranty Schedule.
- By purchasing this Extended Warranty, the Warranty Holder agrees to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
2. Collaboration with GMR
Honda Malaysia Sdn Bhd (HMSB), in collaboration with Guard My Ride Sdn Bhd (GMR), Offers an exclusive extended warranty program for Honda vehicles aged from 3 years to 9 years, covering mechanical and electrical components beyond the standard warranty-ensuring enhanced protection and long-term peace of mind.
3. Definitions:
- Covered Component: A specific part or system of the vehicle listed as covered in the Warranty Schedule.
- Warranty Schedule: The document attached to or provided with this Agreement that details the specific vehicle, coverage period, mileage limits, deductible, and other relevant information.
- Breakdown: The sudden and unexpected failure of a Covered Component to perform its intended function.
- Authorized Repair Facility: A repair facility approved by the Provider for warranty repairs.
- EWP: Honda Extended Warranty Package
4. GENERAL
Eligible Models
- The models that are sold by Authorize Dealers.
- Honda City, Jazz, BR-V, WR-V, HR-V, CR-V, Civic, Type-R, Accord, Odessey
- Customer are advised to check with authorized dealers for EWP model availability
Vehicle Eligibility
The following Customer with below vehicle category entitle to purchase the EWP:
- Honda Certified Used Car customer with vehicles aged between 3 to 8 years
- Customer with vehicles aged between 3 to 5 years who made an advance purchase.
- Customer with vehicles aged between 6 to 8 years, after the warranty period has expired.
- All above category entitle to purchase. However, it depends on vehicle Inspection result and approval by GMR
EWP Coverage Period:
- EWP Product only available to use after customer vehicle reach 6 years for those customer who purchase in advance (Between 3 – 5 years)
- EWP Product can be activated immediately for customer who purchase from 6th year to 8th year.
- EWP package only applicable for 1 year coverage and can be re-purchase on the following year
- Warranty Holder only can claim warranty after 30 days or 1000KM from EWP purchased date at any Honda Authorize Dealer.
EWP Mileage Entitlement
- Eligible vehicles must have a mileage between 0 KM and 200,000 KM at the time of purchase.
Pricing Requirements
- Customer that are interested in EWP, you are requested to visit any Honda Authorized Dealer for comprehensive information and assistance regarding Pricing and Package details
- Price of EWP may be change at any time without prior notice.
Modification of Terms:
- The company reserves the right to modify or terminate this program and its terms at any time without prior notice.
5. Warranty Product Coverage:
- This Extended Warranty Program package is dependent on package availability during customer purchase. For more info regarding the coverage and exclusion may refer to the appendix A & B.
6. Policy Acknowledgement
- Warranty Holder that purchase EWP package will receive notification from GMR (Link Acknowledge of Policy) via Email and Whatsapp.
- Warranty Holder would require filling in their email address information to receive the policy
- Once Warranty Holder received the policy through the email it is considered as acknowledgment/acceptance to the product.
7. Deductible:
- The Warranty Holder is responsible for paying the deductible amount specified in the EWP Warranty E-Booklet for each separate repair incident.
8. Claims Procedure:
- In the event of a Breakdown of a Covered Component:
- The Warranty Holder must take reasonable steps to prevent further damage.
- The Warranty Holder must notify the Provider as soon as reasonably possible.
- The vehicle must be taken to any Honda Authorized Dealer.
- The Warranty Holder must provide the Warranty Schedule and any other required documentation.
- The Honda Authorized Dealer will diagnose the issue and obtain authorization from the Provider before commencing any repairs.
- The Provider reserves the right to inspect the vehicle before authorizing repairs.
- Upon completion of authorized repairs, the Warranty Holder will pay the applicable deductible, and the Provider will pay the remaining covered repair costs directly to the Honda Authorized Dealer (up to RM5,000 coverage limits).
9. Limitations of Liability:
- The coverage of EWP may vary by model and may be subject to updates or changes by Honda Malaysia.
- Honda Malaysia reserves the right to modify the T&C, pricing, and benefits of EWP with prior notice to customers.
10. Car Maintenance Requirements:
- To maintain coverage under this Agreement, the Warranty Holder is responsible for ensuring that the vehicle is properly maintained according to the manufacturer's recommendations.
- The Warranty Holder must visit any Honda Authorized Dealer to be eligible to claim, and the Provider may require proof of regular maintenance.
- The Warranty Holder must follow Honda manufacturer periodic maintenance schedule to continue eligible for Honda EWP
- For any service/repair/replace job that is not following the standard Honda manufacturer periodic maintenance shall not be allowed to purchase or claimed the EWP.
11. Transferability (If Applicable):
- The EWP package is non-transferable and can only be used by the registered vehicle (Based on Vin Number)
- The EWP package is non-transferable to other vehicles if the owner decides to change to His/her other vehicles.
12. Entire Agreement:
- This document, together with the EWP Warranty Booklet, constitutes the entire agreement between the parties and supersedes all prior or contemporaneous communications and proposals, whether oral or written.
13. Refund Eligibility:
- Customer that purchase EWP for the vehicle that is more than 5 years is non-refundable.
- Refund to Warranty Holder only applicable for advanced purchase customer with 70% refund amount from the total package. The requirements are:
- Car mileage above 200,000KM during mileage verification by the end of 5th Year
- The Warranty Holder must provide proof of purchase of the Honda Extended Warranty Program package and proceed with the necessary documentation request by GMR
- Refund claims will only be considered if the extended warranty was purchased before the factory warranty period ended.
- Customer would need to update mileage to any Honda Authorized Dealer
- Any attempt to purchase the extended warranty after the factory warranty has expired will not be eligible.
