On January 7, 2011 at Sheraton Imperial, Kuala Lumpur, Honda Malaysia gathered 203 representatives from 59 dealerships nationwide for a time of sharing and motivation towards Honda's vision for 2011 at the 2011 National Dealers Convention.
National Dealers Convention (NDC) is an annual gathering of dealers together with the Honda management team to align themselves with the vision and commitment of the Honda brand. It is also an opportunity for Honda Malaysia to show its appreciation for the hard work and support of dealers throughout the year. Besides the "Dealer of the Year" award, Honda Malaysia introduced a new award this year - "2010 Best Improvement Dealer In Sales & After Sales (SSI)".
The new theme for 2011 "Rise Up and Take the Lead" seeks to exhort dealers that now is the time for them, together in partnership with Honda Malaysia to "RISE UP and TAKE THE LEAD" to bring the Honda brand to the next level.
The NDC was also an opportunity for the new Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Honda Malaysia, Yoichiro Ueno to meet all the Honda dealers for the first time.

"In the last three years, Honda's sales volume has grown by 18,000 units with 2.1% increase of market share. I believe this achievement did not come easily but it was largely due to four important factors; a strong brand, strong products, a strong dealer network and our commitment to the customers in continuous improvement." said Mr. Ueno.
Mr. Ueno also reminded dealers that a strong brand cannot be established only by products. All the activities and communications that Honda's customers experience at the dealerships - that is also "Honda". Customers evaluate the Honda brand through their individual experience at dealerships and with the product.
Mr. Ueno urged all dealers to be proactive in providing new and better services to their customers in order to retain them.

Commenting on the accomplishment of the dealers, Encik Rohime Shafie, President and Chief Operating Officer of Honda Malaysia said, "We hope that all the dealers here, especially the award winners will indeed "Rise up and Take the Lead" in bringing the Honda brand and business to the next level. Our aim is to have each of the 200,000 Honda customers in Malaysia become a lifetime member of the Honda family".
Macinda Auto was declared the Dealership of the Year. The 3S Centre is located in Kuantan and was officially launched in August 2008, making it the 54th authorized Honda dealer in Malaysia.
Expressing his delight, Mr, Jonathan Kok Keng Fai, Dealer Owner of Macinda Auto said, "I am very pleased and honoured to receive this award. We are in our third year of operations but in this short time, we have benefited from the support, leadership and guidance rendered to us by the Honda team. We are committed to continue spreading the joy of owning a Honda to all our customers as we strive to provide the best in our sales and after-sales services. The team in Macinda Auto has worked hard and smart, always putting customer first in every area of 3S (sales, service and spare parts); which are all important factors that contributed to our achievement."
The National Dealers Convention was an excellent occasion for Honda Malaysia and dealers to review every touch point and realign themselves to build a greater Honda experience for all Malaysians in 2011.
The convention ended with an evening of entertainment and scrumptious dinner hosted by Honda Malaysia.
